Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States and it is not currently offered in our home state of Alaska. This is a great cross-training opportunity for your child. Ice hockey and lacrosse share many similarities and complement each other well in regards to developing hand/eye coordination, quick decision making, creating odd man opportunities, etc.

This will be an introductory camp that will teach each player the basics of lacrosse; cradling, throwing/catching, scooping, etc. Instructors will focus on teaching fundamental skills with limited emphasis on game formations and strategies. Each practice session will consist of 30 minutes of fundamental skill development and finish with 3 vs. 3 or 4 vs. 4 small area games. Just like with pond hockey or street basketball, this provides the kids with the opportunity to be creative and sharpen their decision making skills.

AHA will have limited sticks for players to use. We will also have sticks available for purchase or you can purchase sticks at Champions Choice in the University Center.
