We are excited to announce the newest program, In-line hockey to Anchorage Hockey Association (AHA). Anchorage In-line Hockey will be offering a 4 week program out of Ben Boeke 2. The program will skate, I mean roll on Monday & Wednesday evenings starting Monday, April 26th and the last session will be Wednesday, May 19th.
It’s AHA’s goal to continue to offer different programs for our members. We’re a hockey association first, but, it’s our belief that kids need to take a break from the game of hockey to play other sports. What better way then to offer different programs that work for our families schedules and programs that complements hockey to help develop the complete athlete.
Anchorage In-line League will be ran similar to our 4v4 Spring Hybrid league. We will be utilizing our hardboard dividers to create two smaller playing surfaces. Games will be an unstructured 4v4 with goalies to help promote creativity and give the players a high level of puck touches. We welcome full-time goalies for a discount or players looking to get a turn in net then we will have gear to borrow. Again, we run our programs with limited roster spots to allow the players to play every other shift with set shift lengths (1 to 2 minutes). This will allow for fair ice time for all and to have a fast pace to the game.

Sticks: any ice hockey stick can be used, but each player will need to use a hockey wraparound aid to protect the stick blade and protect players. This is mandatory and will be built into the registration and they will be passed out at the first session.
Where to buy rollerblades: (In town) Champion’s Choice or Play It Again Sports.
Another options is looking into Marsblades, they are a little more expensive but their rocker technology allows the player to get a more natural on-ice feel compared to the normal rigid wheel tours.
http://www.marsblade.com - You can buy the complete skate or just purchase the kit and then have Shawn from Champion’s Choice mount them to an old skate or an used skate they have available. I purchased the kit option for my son and Shawn did a great job setting them up on an used pair.
