Cassi Campbell : Cassi grew up in Anchorage playing comp hockey and went on to play for University of Wisconsin-River Falls – DIII. She has a passion for the position and is the lead instructor for the AHA Goalie Clinics. Cassi is a tremendous mentor and motivator for our young and developing goalies.
Steve Thompson: Steve spent his minor hockey days in Anchorage and was a life long AHA member. He played two seasons of AHA House before moving on to play North Stars for the rest of his youth hockey career. Playing for the North Stars prepared Steve for Juniors where he played one season with the BCHL's Vernon Vipers, then two seasons with the USHL's Sioux City Musketeers. After Juniors, Thompson signed a Division 1 scholarship to play hockey with the University of Alaska - Fairbanks Nanooks. During his time at UAF Steve earned CCHA Goaltender of the Week and Bryce Alaska Goal Rush MVP honors by upsetting then #1 ranked North Dakota 2-1 in the tournament championship game. He graduated with a 3.85 GPA and was awarded the Scholar Athlete of the Year award. After leaving the University of Alaska, Steve then began coaching at UAA. He received his NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) certifications and spent two seasons as the teams goaltending/strength and conditioning coach. On top of his college coaching experience, Coach Thompson has spent many years working for USA Hockey developing and selecting the nations best goaltenders. He serves as the Associate Coach-in-Chief for USA Hockey Goaltending on the west coast and travels around the western states helping teach goaltenders and goalie coaches. Most recently, he spent his time working with the Pittsburgh Penguins Goaltending Development Staff which gave him the opportunity to coach many NHL, AHL, and ECHL goaltenders. Currently Steve is the Owner of Alaska Goaltending Academy which serves all the of Alaska's goaltenders. Steve and his staff will be working with all AHA goaltenders and their coaches as well as other organizations around Alaska.
